The food at The Kayon Gangga begins with the land, the farmers who tend it, the recipes that have survived without being written down, the ingredients that have grown in this soil for generations. Four dining destinations in East Bali, one culinary arc that runs from the morning you arrive to the evening before you leave.
Every table at The Kayon Gangga is set with something that cannot be imported: the specific taste of Karangasem. Local ingredients. Traditional recipes. A kitchen philosophy rooted in Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese principle of harmony between people, nature, and the divine. Here, that harmony arrives on a plate.
The Signature Loloh, freshly prepared Balinese herbal tonic, made in front of you, greets every guest upon arrival. It is the first taste of Karangasem. Everything that follows is a continuation of it.
The Taste of Karangasem
Kepitu is the resort’s signature dining destination. An open-air bamboo pavilion that looks out over rice terraces, tropical gardens, the hills of Karangasem, and on clear evenings, the distant ocean. It seats 100 guests across indoor and outdoor settings, and it changes entirely depending on when you arrive.
House of Culture & Creativity
Wanna Gangga functions as a living cultural space first and a restaurant second: 631 square metres of open-air pavilion built around a multi-level infinity pool, sunken pool bar, whirlpool, cultural performance stage, and a sunset social hub that faces the full breadth of the Karangasem landscape.
Japanese Culinary Theatre & Sake Experience
Teppanyaki & Iori is where a different kind of discipline meets the Karangasem landscape. Twenty-four seats around a teppanyaki counter, a chef who cooks in front of you, and a sake collection that moves through Junmai, Ginjo, Daiginjo, and Nigori, each one paired with intention to each course.
The Art of Private Indulgence
In-Villa Dining brings the kitchen, the butler, and the full culinary programme to your patio, your pool, or your dining table, at whatever hour you choose and customised entirely to the guest. The Floating Breakfast arrives at your villa as the rice fields catch the morning light, one of the most requested and one of the hardest to forget.
The culinary programme at The Kayon Gangga follows the same arc as the stay itself. It moves through the Karangasem Heritage Breakfast, the cultural afternoons at Wanna Gangga, the sunset cocktails, the precision of an evening at Teppanyaki & Iori, and the privacy of a villa dinner. It closes, as every stay does, with a last taste of the land you are leaving, and a reason to return.
